Our Curriculum
The Albany Primary Curriculum answers the crucial question: What should our students learn?
This document represents a journey that began in 2008 when the revised New Zealand Curriculum was introduced, and its size in no way reflects the many hours of consultation, meetings, planning, conceptualising, reflection, and review that have gone into its development. Our parents, students, and staff have all provided valuable feedback about what the priorities for our learners are and why these are important. Underpinning this document is the vision of the New Zealand Curriculum: To develop young people who are confident, connected, actively involved, lifelong learners. This is a living document; as the pages of text are brought to life in the practice of our teachers and the culture of our school, we will continue to review its effectiveness and value.
