Maree BathurstMaree was appointed to the Principal’s position in 2003. She was delighted to find a school so closely modelled to her own personal philosophy and values for high quality education for all students. To be appointed to a school with such a wonderful history and reputation, she felt was indeed an honour.

Maree brings a wealth of experience to her leadership role, including some 25 years as a classroom teacher. She has held a variety of management and leadership positions (both in education and commercial sectors) in New Zealand and Australia. Modelling ‘life-long learning’, Maree completed a Masters degree in Education Management at Massey University.

Maree believes Albany Primary School has a wonderful community spirit. The amazing combination of dedicated and motivated teachers and support staff, the active involvement of such positive parents, and an incredibly supportive Board of Trustees and Friends of the School, ensures success for all who walk through our school gate.
