Student Led Conferences
Notice for parents of students in Area 25
On Tuesday 24th June and Thursday 26th June we will be holding Student Led Conferences commencing from 3.30pm. For parents/caregivers of students in Area 25 separate notices will be going home in this regard. Please note that school will be finishing at the usual time of 2.55pm on both of these days.
Conferences take place in your child’s classroom with the class teacher. Student Led Conferences are an opportunity for your child to share their progress and some learning with you. The format for this conference allows for up to five families in the room at one time for 25 minutes. The teacher will circulate around these groups and will be available for questions.
Your child will be proud of their learning, and your attention and positive affirmation is a valuable part of showing your support for their effort. Modelling respect (as one of our school values) for this occasion includes a request that you do not access your cellphone or device in this time. We also request that pre-schoolers and other siblings are not brought into the classrooms as a courtesy to other students and their families. If English is your second language you are welcome to bring along someone who can help translate throughout the meeting.
For parents of students receiving ESOL support, Michelle Molesworth (Mrs Molly) also has booking times available at the same time SLCs will be held should you wish to discuss your child’s ESOL learning with her. During this time, our ESOL room (ESOL 1, lower floor of new block) will also be open to all ESOL families with no bookings necessary should you wish to have an informal opportunity to view the ESOL room with your child/ren and for them to demonstrate the games and style of learning.
Conference times are booked online through School Interviews. Bookings will be open from 3.00pm on Tuesday 17th June and close 9.30am on Tuesday 24th June.
